A SRV record is intended to provide information on available services for your systems, most commonly used with SIP configuration. SRV records have a unique system for naming.

You can manage your SRV DNS records via DNS Zone Editor. To add a new record choose the type of record as SRV (or scroll to SRV records section in the old interface).

NOTE:

What to use as a Name?

The naming system for name value is an underscore followed by the name of the service, followed by a period, and underscore, and then the protocol, another dot, and then the name of the domain:

_service._protocol.domain.tld with example configuration filled would look like this _imaps._tcp.domain.tld

What to use as Weight?

Weight allows the zone administrators to distribute load to multiple targets (load balance). It is used to determine relative capacity and load between two SRV fields within the priority. Hits will be assigned proportionately by weight. This will allow the administrators to have a powerful and weak server and share the appropriate loads between those systems. 0 is the lowest load.

What to use as a Port?

The actual port of the service offered needs to be used here, for example for IMAP it could be 993

What to use as a Target?

The target server needs to be used here for example server.example.tld

What to use as a TTL?

Default TTL value is recommended.

How to edit or delete SRV records?

In the list of records you will see these buttons:

Xem thêm: Quyền Bầu Cử Là Gì? Quyền Ứng Cử Là Gì ? Ứng Cử Là Gì

Button to delete record completely

Button to edit record

In the old interface, the editing and deleting options will appear as soon as you hover your pointer over the value you want to do changes to:

Any DNS Record changes trigger propagation, which can last up to 24 hours to fully propagate.
